A random reel or tiktok made me feel a sudden urge to watch this series and I'm glad that I finally finished this. It didn't hit my expectations on this but i'm glad it turned to be the best series I've watched recently. I love the story on this one. I enjoyed the journey of Cam throughout boot camp. A lot of moral lessons to get from this one. I want to salute the brotherhood of the recruits. It reminded me of The Long Walk which I also adore. I love how diverse the characters are which made them very memorable. They have different personalities and I'm glad that they complement each other.…

This is a story set in 1990 about a closeted gay guy who agrees to join the Marines with his straight best friend, and yes the friend knows that he's gay. To be honest, I enjoyed it more than I thought I would. They were able to weave in a lot of human elements against the boot camp training and by the time the series ended, you started to really feel for some of the characters. That being said, this is not a 'gay' story, this is a military/boot camp story where one of the main characters is actually gay, and for most of the series that wasn't a focal point of the story.
